Why rent for more than a day
The riding around Bullhead City reaches a long way. The Arizona Peace Trail stretches for hundreds of miles through western Arizona, the Black Mountains hold rocky passes and old mining roads, and the summer heat means the cooler mornings are usually the most comfortable riding hours. A multi-day rental lets you ride on your schedule instead of racing the clock:
- Ride early, rest late. Head out at first light, park in the heat of the afternoon, and go again in the evening glow.
- Try different terrain each day. Easy washes on day one, Oatman on day two, the climb toward Secret Pass once you're comfortable.
- Less rushing at pickup and return. One pickup and one return for the whole trip.
- Simpler planning. Book once, then pick each day's route based on the weather and how everyone feels.

A sample three-day plan
- Day one: get comfortable. Learn the machine on the easy dirt roads and washes at the northern end of the Arizona Peace Trail near town. Short ride, early finish.
- Day two: ride to Oatman. Take the dirt routes through the hills to the old mining town on Route 66. Stretch your legs, see the burros from a respectful distance, and ride back before the heat.
- Day three: the big climb. With two days of practice, take on the rockier route toward Secret Pass in the Black Mountains. Start at sunrise and set a turnaround time.
Choosing a machine for several days
Comfort matters more on day three than on day one. If your plans include rough, rocky ground, the long-travel Can-Am Maverick is easy on tired backs. For a couple who wants a quick, fun drive, the Polaris RZR is hard to beat. Bringing the family or friends? A 4-seat side-by-side keeps everyone together for the whole trip.
Planning tips for a longer rental
- Know the season. Fall through spring is the most comfortable riding time. In summer, ride only in the early morning and carry plenty of water.
- Get a map. Many desert routes branch and cross. Carry a paper map or a downloaded GPS route; phone signal is unreliable in the mountains.
- Check the weather every day. Summer storms can flood washes quickly, even when it's sunny where you are.
- Leave a plan. Tell someone where you're going and when you'll be back.
- Clean up each evening. Shake out the dust, check the tires and top up your water supply so the next morning starts smoothly.
- Pace yourselves. Bumpy trails are tiring. A shorter ride on day two can make day three more enjoyable.
